Spring Fair Day 1 (free)

Come and visit our Spring Fair 2024 over the 26th and 27th of May. They’ll be plenty of local crafts and food to go round. It’ll be taking place across the sheep barn, carpark and courtyard areas. Just like our successful fairs of 2023 we’ll be having 3 this year Spring(26th-27th May)/Summer(26th August)/Christmas (23rd and 24th November).

Elsham Hall Extra Lambing Day 3 (Included with admission)

With over 300 ewes, Elsham Hall has one of biggest open lambing days in the country. Shepherd Warwick and his family have run the operation for well over a decade. The barn will be open to the public for 2 days only. Sunday the 31st March and the 7th of April. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to watch multiple lambs being born.

The event is included with Park and Garden admission which also gives you access to the Park and Gardens.No booking necessary, just pay at the door. 
Adult £8/Concession £7.50(Students,Blue cards,People with disabilities + 1 free carer) /Children £6.50(3 and above)/Family £28(2 Adults and 3 Children) 

Pregnant women are advised not to attend this event as close contact with sheep during the lambing poses a risk to health for mother and unborn child from infections sheep can carry.

Good Hygiene practise is essential to avoid cross contamination of infectious diseases for both sheep and human. Please wash your hand on exit/entry and avoid touching.

Open but…We are currently at High risk of closing the Park and Gardens due to the anticipated high wind this weekend. If we do have to close the Park and Gardens in the morning on Sunday, you will be offered either a 20% discount on tickets or 2 stars in the Rewards system. Whatever your preference. (We have a strict wind policy in place to keep everyone safe.)

Snowdrop Week (Included with admission)

Come and celebrate half term by seeing our incredible and extensive variety of Snowdrops or Galanthus (est - 100,000s). Snowdrop bulbs have been planted at Elsham for generations. We are also home to the Giant Snowdrop or Galanthus Elwesii which was discovered by distant relative Henry John Elwes on a visit to Turkey in 1874. His family home, Colesbourne Park and Gardens in Gloucestershire is still open to the public to this day. It boasts one of the biggest collections of snowdrops in the world.

Interesting Facts about snowdrops;

-Snowdrops contain natural anti-freeze proteins which protect them from Ice, frost and snow.

-It’s Greek name Galanthus translates as ‘Milk flower”.

-Snowdrops aren’t actually native to the uk. It’s not clear when they were brought over, but it was during the 18th century they were officially recorded in the wild.

-Snowdrops can be incredibly valuable with avid collectors named ‘galanthophile’s’ paying £100s - £1000s for rare bulbs.

-Galantamine is a compound found within snowdrops which is used to help manage Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Lambing Days

The sheep at Elsham start lambing in March (look out for our special lambing days below). The older lambs can be seen skipping about in the fields on the main entrance drive.

Please be aware that access to the lambing sheds is not allowed at any other time other than Lambing Sundays. You are however able to see the lambs in the fields around the park.
